It was clear that Willow had had a good weekend with both of us and was interested in becoming our girlfriend. Great Falls was only an hour and a half or so away, making it easy for her to visit. She could take the transit that ran to and from Cloverleaf to save gas. It wasn’t long before she decided that she wanted to stay over.

Willow and I had been texting each other all morning when I arrived to work that following Monday. I had never dated much, so I was unsure if this was how women acted. Were women so forward and free in their sexuality, or was this just Willow? I was still processing the images of Shep and her making out and cuddling. Now, I thought about her staying the night with us.

Where would she sleep? With us? Or would me and her stay in the bedroom with Shep on the couch? Would we walk into the other room when we wanted to have sex, leaving him alone with some kind of instructions that would let him know when we were done? Would he watch?

I texted Shep that Willow preferred to stay at the house when she visited that weekend. He agreed.

Shep was right. Willow’s request for separate dates had taken us off guard. We preferred more transparency. So her staying at home was the only logical way to proceed. But it all seemed too surreal. I carried all the guilt of someone having a secret love affair, yet there was no sneaking around or lying. Nevertheless, something felt wrong.

I texted Willow letting her know that she can stay with us.

I set my phone down on my desk with a loud thud. It was real now. This would happen. It wasn’t going to be some fling or some wild night that Shep and I experienced. We were adding a third.

When Willow and I had been alone that past weekend, I was nervous. When she had sat before me with her black makeup and tube top that squeezed her breasts together, I’d found her so beautiful. It was similar to any normal temptation. Like when I admire a sexy person on the street, but I return to my senses and dismiss them as a sexual possibility. That changed when I’d seen her smile, the way she’d constantly ran her hand through her curly hair, and her freckles that spotted her arms like a galaxy of stars. There was also her intoxicating confidence. She seemed so sure of herself, her body, and her sexuality. She could teach me things that no one had ever shown me. With every passing thought, my desire for her pressed stubbornly against the crotch of my pants.

Shep had said it was okay. While his approval felt almost the same as a betrayal, it also proved how much he cared for me. He didn’t want me to deny my sexual nature. He hoped that I’d have a partner who would help me explore that part of myself.
